RUSSIAN PROSPERITY FUND EURO
The Russian
Prosperity Fund Euro invests in Russia and surrounding (CIS)
countries, with the objective of maximizing the return on its assets. The
Fund complies with the EU Act on Common Funds (UCITS), which means that the
Fund has a well diversified portfolio composition which is quite different
from a market-weighted index.
The Fund's Investment Advisor is
Prosperity
Capital Management. Prosperity uses a fundamental bottom-up approach,
based on internal research. Prosperity carefully selects relatively
undervalued and well-managed companies that will benefit from the transition
and the developing new market environment in Russia. The investments
therefore tend to be made with a medium to long-term investment horizon.
Prosperity works with active stock selection, the
main investment approach being value and event-driven, whereas growth for
the coming years is also considered. The Fund tends to be overweight
preferred shares and second-tier stocks. Arbitrage possibilities, arising
from a stream of M&A in the market place, are actively used.
Prosperity's investment team, which is based in
Moscow, has worked together since 1996. The investment team makes over
300 company visits per year and is represented on the board of directors of
several leading Russian companies. A core list of some 200 companies - being
95% of the market's capitalization - is closely followed.
